How to Activate Ceremonial Cacao

To ‘activate’ means to intentionally put energy into the preparation so that its vibrational effects are felt throughout the ceremony.

Our Sacred Ceremonial Grade Cacao is wild-harvested in the Amazon Rainforest in Peru. When we travelled there in search of the origins of Cacao, we were invited to sit in ceremony with the Ashaninka, the oldest indigenous tribe in South America. They shared what cacao means to them and its significance to their culture and environment. Now it is our intention to nurture this sacred relationship with every cup.

When we prepare Ceremonial Cacao we do it with the pure intention of love. To ‘activate’ means to intentionally put energy into the preparation so that its vibrational effects are felt throughout the ceremony. We all have unique ways of expressing gratitude and love, so we put together a list of different ways to activate Ceremonial Cacao:

• Acknowledge her origin and the journey from seed to sip
• Give respect to the land and indigenous people who make this sacred connection possible
• Breathe deeply to ground your body to Mother Earth
• Sing or play music
• Tell a story or express your intention for the ceremony
• Give gratitude for where you are in your journey
• Stir the cacao mindfully and inhale the goodness of her aroma 

In her Sacred Story Lillie describes her recommendations for activating and connecting with Ceremonial Cacao. 

‘I recommend having ceremonial cacao once a week or fortnight, when you really want to connect with Mother Cacao.’ Lillie advises. ‘Activate your ceremonial cacao with intention. Cook her for a long time on a low heat. Sing to her. Call on the elements, to the directions, to Mother Earth and Father Sky. Call upon the spirit of Cacao. The more you allow yourself to connect with unseen forces, the deeper your cacao experience will be.’
