Discovering the Inner Warrior
The way of the warrior is perpetual discovery. The resilient seeker constantly uncovers strength in vulnerability and is masterful at cultivating the courage to say, ‘Today, I need to rest.’
When we prioritise peace over productivity, it’s actually a double win. Rather than forgo our passions and projects, we create necessary space around them for their natural growth and development - as well as that of our own.
In his beautiful book, Manual of the Warrior of Light, Paulo Coehlo writes:
“Warriors of light are not perfect. Their beauty lies in accepting this fact and still desiring to grow and to learn.”
In a culture which evolves around efficiency, it is incredibly humbling to accept this piece of wisdom. Is perfection such a desirable quality if it leaves no room for grace?
Warrior Pose (Virabhadrasana in Sanskrit) is a posture of subtle dynamism, demonstrating both strength and flexibility. Five deep breaths in this shape activates the Solar Plexus Chakra, our centre of will and focus. It invites us to find a ‘drishti’ or a point of focus on which we rest our attention, improving concentration. We build strength in our legs and core, whilst maintaining softness in the shoulders, neck and jaw, releasing tension.
This week’s New Moon is in the sign Aries, allowing us to sit with our inner fire introspectively. The warrior does not always extend energy outwards; taking the time to stoke our heart’s flames and direct our energy intentionally will ensure precision and completion, when the time is right.
To tap into this inner strength we recommend the following tools:
- Practice Warrior Pose
- Prepare Fire Cacao for extra heat and connection to the fire element
- Respond to the following journal prompts
- To keep my fire burning I need…
- I feel most alive and aligned when I…
- The energy and intention behind my desire is…

“This is why they are warriors of the light. Because they err. Because they question. Because they seek a reason - and they will surely find it.”
- Paulo Coelho
